I am preparing a new site to act as a portfolio for my photography. The website address will be nickpics.co.uk. The plan is to have the following content:
- Portfolio - A few images from each type of photography I do.
- Gallery - All the best images I have taken, and that are available for purchase.
- Articles - I plan to add articles on how to take various types of photographs, how to look after your camera gear, etc. May even turn this in to a podcast (or vodcast).
- Links - Obvious, but I need to get permission for the links to be used and do I do paid subscriptions on this?
- News and event - my news and events (pos. other industry news).
Let me know what you think about the list above. I am still working on a theme. Have you seen any sites that you love, or hate the look or feel of? Any constructive ideas, suggestions, etc. are welcomed.
Finally, I am torn between the use of Gallery2, Drupal and WordPress. The later two are the leaders. I have used Drupal for a while, and as a Content Management System (CMS) think it is far ebtter than WordPress. WordPress on the other hand is a basic Blog system, which has far better gallery plugins (NextGen and its add-ons)than Drupal. Both can do podcasts, custome themes, etc. Really tough to choose. Again, let me know what you think about this.
