Heartstart in Thatcham?

A group is being established to bring the Heartstart programme, co-ordinated by the British Heart Foundation, to the community of Thatcham (& further). Not heard of it, then take a look at the booklet about it here. I am looking at the interest in terms of people who would like to take the course and those who would like to be involved in running and delivering the course (doctors, nurses, first responders, etc.).

If you are a medic (doctor, nurse, paramedic, first responder, resucitation trainer, etc.) I would very much like to hear from you (see my contact page) if you would like to get involved. There will be a meeting shortly to organise things and get a group OFFICIALLY running.

If you would like to know more, show your support and/or register an interest, come along and talk to me/us at the Thatcham Volunteer Fair on 16th March 2013, 10 a.m. til 3 p.m. at the Catholic Hall, Bath Road, Thatcham. If you cannot wait them drop me an email on my contact page. From this it is hoped that a group can be officially formed and affiliated with the British Heart Foundation after which courses can start.

Just think, would you know what to do if someone collapsed in front of you?

did you know that we already

did you know that we already have a Heartstart Scheme that has covered the Newbury/Reading/Basingstoke Districts and beyond for the last 4 1/2 years? During this time we have successfully trained over 3700 local residents. A number of our younger attendees have also saved their relatives lives after recieiving training in the local Schools. Good luck with your Scheme. Best regards, Bryan Coordinator Heartstart UK Tadley traingle Scheme

Dear Bryan, Thank you for

Dear Bryan, Thank you for the comment on my website with regards to Heartstart in Thatcham. I do appreciate any and all comments. You were on my list of people to contact over the next week. I did contact various people before starting to look at running/setting up the the course and they all told me that no one in the area was running the scheme. I also contacted various doctors surgeries and first responders in Thatcham and area, and some other organisations, none of which were aware of any courses running in the area. I did find out about your scheme, but only a month ago, well after I started this. Hence the reason I wanted to start a course up, well one of the reasons anyway, the belief that there was no such course running in the area. Anyway, you have done an amazing job Training the number you have. I would still like to get a scheme set-up in Thatcham, but at the same time do not want to step on your toes. Your sincerely, Nick
