Thatcham: then and now (update)

I wrote a post about Thatcham: then and now a while ago. I have now (October 2011) completed the book and it is being put togehter, the layout and artwork anyway, by the publisher ready for a July 2012 release. It has been a fantastic project and has spawned several other projects. One is to produce another book for the same publisher, The History Press.  I will give details of this new book in due course.

Others I am working on and will deal with publishing at a later date. The other projects include:

  1. A look at Thatcham town centre, that is the Broadway and High Street through the ages;
  2. Social history of Thatcham, that is the people;
  3. The changing face of Thatcham through the ages;
  4. Memories of Thatcham;
  5. Notable families of Thatcham; and
  6. The archaeology of Thatcham.

And there are others. Some will be done entirely by myself, others I dare say will be group projects under Thatcham Historical Society. Please do comment, which would you like to see, have I missed one?  I will post more details later this month, but should you have any historical information, photos, etc. of Thatcham and the surrounding area, I would be more than interested in hearing from you.

Please note, a lot of people

Please note, a lot of people have asked me for an update, for copies, for me to sign them, etc. So first of:

  • The book SHOULD be released in July 2012. Sorry can't be more specific.
  • I am organising a launch event.
  • I am not selling the books directly, you can (pre) order from your local bookshop
  • I will sign them for you, either at the launch event, via a signing session, or other.

Still got questions, just give me a shout via my contact page.
