Ultimate Community Site Guide

I was sent a PDF copy of “Ultimate Community Site Guide - 2nd Edition” by Dorien Herreman from drupalfun.com to review. This is the third Drupal book I have had the opportunity to review for an author/publisher. First impressions are good; the book looks good and has a nice and easy to follow tone to it.

In general I like the book. It is relatively easy to follow, the illustrations are helpful and the language makes it easier to work with. It is a good introduction to Drupal for the beginner, someone who has never touched Drupal at all. You can download all the relevant materials, Drupal, etc. from the website that accompanies the book. This in itself makes it less daunting for those new to Drupal.

There are a few minor points though, and they are that there are, in my opinion, some grammatical errors and one case where tables are used for formatting instead of CSS.

All in all, Dorien has made this an excellent book for a beginner and for the online version of the book, at about £7, is good value for money.
