Turnpike Secondary School

It is no secret, I went to Turnpike Secondary School, and am proud of it.  The staff were fantastic, my class mates were cool and I loved it.  In addition, those who know me will know that I love my history and like to preserve as much about the history of a place as possible.  I have decided one of my goals this coming year, 2008, is to gather as much information of the Turnpike Secondary School as possible.  This includes it's history, staff, students, photographs, etc., essentially anything I can lay my hands on.  What I would like to do is to produce a book, or

Remember The Milk

I thought I would start putting some post's up about sites that I have been using and have found useful. The first is Remember The Milk (RTM). This site allows you to create a task list. The difference here is you can prioritise the tasks, add files to the tasks, set deadlines, add reminders (email and SMS), repeat events, you can even send tasks in by email. The tasks can be made public or kept private and tasks are available as an iCal feed. This could be used for group projects with this feature.

Vista Colour Management

I have been struggling to sort out colour profile issues for a while now. I came across a post earlier today on Vistax64.com and thought I would give it a go, despite having tried almost every option I could find.  Firstly, let me point out, I have had Adobe Gamma installed and was sure that I had removed it.

iWoz, iCon and Commodore

I have been reading several biography's this year and thought I would share some of them. The first three I read this year, in order were On The Edge, iWoz and iCon.

Research in use

I came across a publication a while ago which featured a piece of my work. The paper "An Evaluation of Motion JPEG 2000 for Video Archiving" by Glenn Pearson and Michael Gill, refers to a piece of code, EMILY (see original code at Bath University), that I produced for viewing, compressing and decompressing images and video. It is nice to find that my work is actually being looked at, if not used, by others.
